Fatherless and motherless at the age of one, Pastor Duarte grew up in a drug infested, violent gang area. He got jumped into a gang at the age of 16. At 18 years old he was sentenced to prison for five years. Pastor Duarte's lifestyle reflected a culture of repeated crimes which resulted in him living "in and out' of prison until he was 26 years old. He has been to Tracy, Chino, San Quentin and Folsom prisons but Jesus Christ did a miracle in his life. After being in a gang for 10 years, Pastor Duarte had an encounter with Jesus that set him free from his violent lifestyle and all the addictions that came with it. He is now happily married to his wife, Elena and has 5 children. Jesus has continued to change and bless Pastor Duarte's family as they serve the Northwest Valley of Arizona at The Potter's House Surprise.
